The Danish private equity firm, CataCap, has signed an agreement to acquire e-Boks from its two owners, Nets and PostNord.
This decision follows an initiative by e-Boks' current owners to find the right new owner who can continue and strengthen the development of e-Boks while realizing the company's growth potential.
With 5.3 million users, e-Boks is the preferred platform for Danes when it comes to reading and responding to digital mail and securely storing important documents. Since its establishment in 2001, e-Boks has played a crucial role in making Denmark one of the world's most digital societies. By developing a secure communication platform for businesses, public authorities, and citizens, e-Boks has made it easier to benefit from digital transformation.
CataCap's acquisition of e-Boks will not result in any changes to the daily operations of the platform for customers or users.
Regarding the acquisition, Jens Hahn-Petersen, co-founder and partner at CataCap, says:

Nets and PostNord are also pleased with the agreement with CataCap.

Before the acquisition can be finalized, it must be formally approved by the Danish authorities, which expected happen in the course of the coming months.
